Buford Water Damage in a Basement

The water line disconnected at the coupling in the powder room of this finished basement in Buford. Fortunately, the teenage son discovered the standing water after several hours of flowing. Our SERVPRO water restoration technicians arrived quickly to suction out the pooling water on the carpet. The quality of the carpeting was not durable enough to withstand the water damage that occurred. The staining and degradation of the fibers coaxed the homeowner into replacing the flooring after we completed our work. We had floated the carpeting to dry the baseboard and paneling; this was a positive effort since these materials were salvaged saving our customer substantial money. Even though, as seen in the second photo, the flooring was changed out, our drying was effective.
