Storm Water Ruins a Room in Hamilton Mill

The storm water backed into the drains in the adjacent kitchen to this Hamilton Mill living room. With the house unoccupied for several days the water significantly damaged the flooring, baseboards, and walls. Demolition of the walls and removal of the carpet from the subfloor base were the first orders of action. The Before Photo depicts a wet-vac, heated dehumidifier, hand tools, and even a tank containing an antimicrobial agent. The bulk of the moisture being removed, the walls exposed for drying and restoration, meant the final phase of the drying process could begin. The After Photo shows an air mover shooting the moist air to the exterior of the structure. Moisture meters and an infrared camera indicated when the moisture content of the affected rooms had been restored to normal levels.
